Like many parts of Kansas, Olathe was hotly contested territory during the Civil War and was occupied by famous Confederate general William Quantrill. Once peace settled across the nation, Olathe became an important stop for many settlers moving West.

Olathe residents and visitors can keep this history alive by visiting the many historic sites in town or enjoying historical festivals. Olathe was a stop on the California, Oregon, and Santa Fe Trails, and Olathe’s Wild West Days celebrate the legacy of these settlers. Visitors and locals alike can also learn about the Civil War history of Kansas with reenactments and presentations. The Mahaffie House is a local historical site that hosts many of these events on the 40 acre farm.

Though the history of the area is a big draw, the natural beauty of Olathe provides many other fun activities. There are a number of parks where visitors can enjoy the great outdoors through nature walks, biking, horse riding, fishing, and so much more. The Ernie Miller Park & Nature Center offers hiking trails through the 116 acre nature preserve, as well as a Nature Center that holds many different educational and family events. Tree Trimming Project in Olathe KS

We recently received a call from a new customer who was concerned about the tree in his backyard getting too close to the roofline.  Although the client thought we needed to remove the tree, we were able to trim the tree back substantially.  The end result was that we were able to save the tree and save the client money!
